The lids can't simply be removed - your dog has to work out where the treats are and slide the corresponding lids back to get at them.To start with, let your dog see you put treats in each compartment and don't close the lids completely, so your dog can still see and smell the food; later you can reduce the number of compartments used and close the lids fully.
